ISIS Europe is a not for profit Brussels-based independent and neutral research and advisory organisation working on aspects of security, defence and peace policies of the EU and NATO. ISIS Europe facilitates parliamentary and inter-institutional dialogue with all stakeholders and provides policy input to strengthen common approaches to conflict prevention, crisis management, peace building, arms control and disarmament.
On April 24th, former Member of the Governing Board of ISIS Europe and SIPRI's former Director, Professor Bates Gill, received the Royal Order of the Polar Star from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, for his distinguished service during his five years as SIPRI Director.
On April 29th, Myrto Hatzigeorgopoulos, Programme and Office Manager at ISIS Europe, and Jorge Eduardo Delgado, PhD candidate at the War Studies Department of King's College in London, presented their research paper 'Strategically partnering with power: Brazil, South Africa, and prospects for EU security and defence' at the The EU and Emerging Powers conference.
